Black and Gold Basketball Camp

Who: Boys & Girls in Grades 2-9 (entering in the fall)

When: Monday, June 23 – Thursday, June 26 from 9am – 3pm; Friday, June 27 from 9am – 12pm

Where: North Kingstown High School Gymnasium

Camp Curriculum

Beyond teaching the skills required to succeed at the middle and high school levels to include ball handling, defense, rebounding, and shooting, campers will also compete in games and various competitions.

Offense

Ball handling- dribbling and passing
Shooting (off catch and off dribble)
Moving without the ball/floor spacing
Setting and using screens

Defense

Defensive slide technique
Defensive positioning- on ball, off ball
Closing out and contesting shots
Defending screens
Boxing out and securing rebounds

Daily Camp Schedule

8:30–9:00 AM – Arrival & Dynamic Stretching
9:00–9:30 AM – Morning Lecture: Skill Introduction
9:30–10:45 AM – Skill Stations
11:00–11:50 AM – Morning Games
12:00–12:45 PM – Lunch
12:45–1:30 PM – Competition of the Day
1:40–2:30 PM – Afternoon Games
2:30–3:00 PM – Wrap-Up & Campers of the Day

Sean Henseler

North Kingstown High School Varsity Basketball Coach

Coach Sean Henseler is the North Kingstown High School Varsity Basketball. He has been coaching at the high school and prep school levels for the past 20 years and has helped guide his teams to multiple state championships.

Mike Madoian

North Kingstown High School Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Mike Madoian is the assistant coach at North Kingstown High School. He has coached at the college, high school, AAU, and youth levels since 2014. Coach Mike was an integral part of the team at North Kingstown High School and helped pave the way for North Kingstown’s success in the late 2010s.

North Kingstown High School Junior Varsity Coach

Jake

Coach Jake verDorn is the head junior varsity and assistant varsity coach at North Kingstown High School. Coach Jake has spent time as an AAU coach and a high school coach in New Jersey and South Carolina since 2008.
