Who: Boys & Girls in Grades K-3

When: When: Fridays — March 13, 20, 27 & April 10, 17 | Time: • K–1: 5:30–6:30 PM • Grades 2–3: 6:30–7:30 PM

*$150 per player (includes a t-shirt) | K–1: Skills & drills only | Grades 2–3: 45 minutes skills/drills + 15 minutes game play.

League Information

Individual Registration: $150 per player (includes a t-shirt)

Please indicate your child’s skill level during registration.
Players will be placed on a co-ed team with a volunteer coach.

Season Details

  • 1 session per week

  • 5 total sessions

This league focuses on skill development and teaching the fundamentals and rules of youth basketball using:

  • 8-foot hoops for Grades K–1

  • 9-foot hoops for Grades 2–3

Weekly Format

Each weekly session includes:

  • 5-minute warm-up

  • Skills training led by a head coach

    • Grades K–1: 60-minute skills session

    • Grades 2–3: 40-minute skills session

  • 15-minute structured game (Grades 2–3 only)

Coach

Ryan Shibley

Director

Ryan serves as a Warwick PAL Officer with the Warwick Police Department, where he plays an active role in leading and supporting over 10 youth sports and mentoring programs throughout the community. He is deeply involved in developing young athletes, both on and off the court, with a strong focus on leadership, teamwork, and character development.

From 2022 to 2025, he coached the PAL Warriors middle school basketball program and currently oversees the Little Warriors Basketball Program, while also assisting with the Little Hoopsters clinics. His commitment to youth development extends beyond basketball, as he also coaches soccer for the Warwick Fire Fighter Soccer Club and will be coaching Warwick PAL NFL Flag Football.

A former collegiate athlete, Ryan played four years of college basketball at Emerson College in Boston. Before that, he was a three-year varsity basketball player at Coventry High School, where he reached the 1,000-point scoring milestone.
