Team Requirements

  • Teams should be members of RIYBA, Metrowest Youth Travel Basketball League, or a town travel team during the 2025-26 winter season. Advanced 3rd graders can choose to play in the 4th-grade division if approved by the league commissioner. Teams must provide their uniform (same color jersey) with a number on the back. All individual free agents MUST be approved by the league commissioner.
  • Player registration is open from Thursday, March 19 – Thursday, May 28.
A minimum of five registered players guarantees your team a spot in the league. Each division will have at least four teams per grade. If a fifth team registers, it will be placed on a waitlist until a sixth team joins the division.
  • Important Note on Player Registration: Players who register but are not on a current travel Metrowest/RIYBA team are not guaranteed a roster spot with their town or city team. If a head coach indicates a need for players and approves a free agent from their town, the league will consider that player for placement. All final decisions regarding rosters will be made by the end of May.

“Appreciate the league, refs, and experience. I know shuffling us last-minute mid-season for a regular season game, and then re-seeding the playoffs was not a small task.

Favorite game of the summer was last night, thanks for moving us up for that experience.”
