Warwick February Vacation Basketball Camp

Who: Boys & girls in grades 2-8.

When: Tuesday, February 17 – Friday, February 20 from 9am – 12pm.

Where: Warwick Veterans Middle School, 2401 W Shore Rd, Warwick, RI

All town/city residents are welcome to attend the February Vacation Camp  in collaboration with Warwick Police Athletic League (PAL) at Warwick Veterans Middle School Campers will work on the basic fundamentals of the game (shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense), play in unique skill competitions, and compete in 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 games.

Coaches

Eric Simonelli

Director

  • Commissioner of the Warwick PAL Warriors youth travel basketball program in Warwick, Rhode Island (RI) for boys and girls in grades K-8.
  • Eric coaches the 4th-grade girls in the Warrior travel program
  • President of Higher Learning Basketball.
  • He is the former State Championship Head Varsity Basketball Coach at La Salle Academy, where he compiled a 96-21 Division 1 record and a 135-49 overall record over seven seasons. Simonelli’s team was the Division 1 Champion in 2014 and 2015, the RI Open State Champion in 2015, and the RI Open State Runner-Up in 2016.
  • Former Prout School to the Division III State Championship in 2011 and 2012, and was the Division III Runner-Up in 2007.
  • Simonelli attended Duxbury High School in Massachusetts, where he scored 1,200 career points and was a Patriot Ledger, Boston Herald, and Boston Globe All-Scholastic Player.
  • At the collegiate level, he graduated from Endicott College, where he was a DIII All-American and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.

Henry Coleman

Head Coach

Coach Henry Coleman is the Varsity Head Coach for the Mount Saint Charles Academy Boys Basketball team. He began his career as an assistant head coach at Feinstein High School from 2002-2008, making the playoffs every year and culminating in winning the Division III State Championship ​in 2006 and the Division II State Championship in 2007. He then was named interim head coach at Central High School from 2008-2010, leading Central to the playoffs in 2010. That year, he was recognized as the 2009-2010 Division I Rhode Island Basketball Coaches Association Head Coach of the Year. From 2010-2014, he was the assistant head coach at Shea High School, helping them make the playoffs three times, including finishing as the 2012-2013 Division II Championship runners-up. In 2013-2014, Coach Coleman was hired as the head coach of Mount Saint Charles Academy. In 2014-2015 and 2018-2019 seasons, he was recognized as the Division III Rhode Island Basketball Coaches Association Head Coach of the Year. He also currently serves on the Rhode Island Basketball Coaches Association Executive Board as the President and Webmaster. Henry is also the Mount Saint Charles Middle School Golf Head Coach.

Coach Coleman graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health & Physical Education. He has been a Health & Physical Education teacher at Hope High School since 2005. He is the He is married to his wife Melissa and they have three daughters.
