Eric Simonelli

Eric is a high-level executive overseeing all basketball-related operations at Higher Learning Basketball. As a dedicated Warwick, Rhode Island, resident, father of school-age children, and seasoned basketball coach, he is committed to organizing and enhancing the local youth basketball program.

Currently, Eric serves as the President of Higher Learning Basketball and works as a college admissions consultant. Previously, he was the head varsity basketball coach and director of college counseling at La Salle Academy, where he led his team to a 96-21 Division 1 record and a 135-49 overall record over seven seasons. Under his leadership, La Salle won the Division 1 Championship in 2014 and 2015, the RI Open State Championship in 2015, and finished as the RI Open State Runner-Up in 2016.

Before his time at La Salle, Eric coached at The Prout School, guiding the team to Division III State Championships in 2011 and 2012 and a Division III Runner-Up finish in 2007.

A standout player himself, Eric attended Duxbury High School in Massachusetts, where he scored 1,200 career points and earned All-Scholastic honors from the Patriot Ledger, Boston Herald, and Boston Globe. At the collegiate level, he played at Endicott College, where he was a Division III All-American and was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
